· How Long Does It Take To Build A Benchmark Home?
Your new home should be completed 5 – 6 months after permit approval has been received. Upon finalization of contract and color selection, the permit packet is submitted to the city for approval. The permit approval is contingent upon each city’s approval process. Once permits are received, the excavation work begins.
· How Much Of A Deposit Is Required To Build?
Benchmark Homes requires 3% of the base price of the home at pre-construction meeting. First homebuyer’s submit a contract with $1,000 initial deposit and seek financing approval from a lending professional. Within the month, a second meeting is held to review the plans and select colors for the home at our Design Center in Syracuse. After colors are selected, the buyers and agent review and sign all contract documents and the non-refundable remaining deposit amount is collected at that time.
· Tell me about the Benchmark Homes Design Center
The Design Center is located inside our Carlton Place Model Home located at 3112 S. 1000 W. Syracuse. The Benchmark Homes Design Center is a grand showcase of interior and exterior features and materials. Every sample including brick & stone exteriors, appliances, flooring, countertops, cabinets and paint, are all displayed at a large scale so you can envision what you’ll be coming home to. Our new center is planned for construction in 2008. If you’d like to tour our Design Center, please call ahead of time to schedule a meeting with our Design Consultant at (801) 825-2845.
· Do You Allow Sweat Equity?
No.
· Do You Offer A Home Warranty?
Benchmark Homes offers a 1-year full-warranty which ensures Benchmark Homes will take care of issues that may arise after you move into your home. After the 1-year period, the HVAC, Electrical and Plumbing systems are covered for the second year by Benchmark Homes. After the second year, the individual product warranties are honored for the duration of their individual lives. Your warranty information is presented to you in the “Home Profile” binder at your homeowner orientation meeting with the Customer Service Representative. Organized, precise and easy to use, this binder will be your reference for the remaining time you are in your new home.
· Do You Have A Preferred Lender?
Yes, we work with a couple different lenders to provide you with a good lending experience. Each lender offers different incentives and both of them have proved to be some of the best in the industry! You may contact our preferred lenders to be pre-qualified for your new home. See our Finance Tab.
